What we collect and why

When you ask to be matched with agencies, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the postcode where care is needed, the kind and amount of care, when it is needed, how it will be paid for, and any notes you add. We use this to pass your request to up to three home care agencies that cover your postcode and to email you a copy of who we sent it to. The lawful basis is that you have asked us to do this (performance of a contract, UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Notes about a person's health are special category data; we process them only because you have chosen to share them so that an agency can respond sensibly (Article 9(2)(a), explicit consent). Please share only what the agency needs.

When an agency claims a listing, we collect the contact name and email address, use them to verify the claim and to send enquiries, and publish only what the agency chooses to add to its page.

When you browse, Cloudflare Web Analytics records page views without cookies or personal identifiers. Our anti-spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs on forms and may set a short-lived cookie for that purpose only.

Who receives it

The agencies we match you with receive your enquiry in full, and from then on they are responsible for how they handle it under their own privacy policy. We also keep a copy. Our website, database and email are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., whose UK and EU data-centres hold the data; Cloudflare acts as our processor. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else and do not use them for marketing unless you tick a box asking us to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are deleted 90 days after you send them. Claim records are kept while the listing is claimed. Email copies are deleted on the same schedule.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it, by emailing hello@matchmyhomecare.co.uk. We reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Information about agencies

Agency names, addresses, phone numbers, registered managers' names, ratings and inspection dates are public information published by the Care Quality Commission under the Open Government Licence v3.0. A registered manager who would prefer their name not to appear here can ask us to remove it.
